It’s no great surprise that the Chinese manufacturer ZTE has announced two versions of its range Nubia, the Nubia Z9 Mini and Nubia Z9 Max. Let’s review these two new smartphones.
Nubia Z9 Mini
More affordable version, the Nubia Z9 Mini is paid despite the luxury of offering good configuration. Equipped with a 5-inch Full HD screen, this unit’s midrange performance is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 615 with 8 cores based on the Cortex A53 architecture known for its low power consumption and performance rather good in part with 64 Bit compatibility. The graphic is provided by the graphics processor Adreno 405. In RAM, we can find 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Good news, it will be possible to add a Micro SD up to 128 GB to boost the storage unit. Comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop overcoated with Nubia UI 2.8, Nubia Z9 Mini is fairly complete. We also appreciate the camera rear 16MP and front 8MP, wide battery of 2,900 mAh and 4G compatibility (remains to be seen frequencies). Finally, Nubia Z9 Mini has a low weight of 147g on the scales for a measured thickness of 8.2 mm. Note that it is possible to change the back cover of the device with a wide choice of design.
Nubia Z9 Max
Latest version upscale, Nubia Z9 Max is a model for the fight against high-end jewels, one inevitably thinks of the Xiaomi Mi Pro Note that normally happen in April. Inside this supercharged version a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa Core processor with 4 cores Cortex A53 and 4 other Cortex A57. The screen will be signed by the Japanese Sharp, it will make a 5.5 inch Full HD display. We will be happy to also discover 3 GB of RAM, 16GB of RAM also expandable with Micro SD up to 128 GB (rare opportunity for high-end models). The rest of the features are rather close to the Z9 Mini with a camera rear 16MP and 8 million pixels, 2900 mAh battery and based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Price and Availability
Scheduled for availability in China on April 14, the Z9 Nubia Max will be able to buy 2,499 yuan (about 370 €), a rather high price in terms of OnePlus One or Xiaomi Mi4 for a Chinese fare. Remember that these rates will increase significantly when selling in Europe. Nubia Z9 by Mini will against a better deal with a rather fair price 1499 yuan (about 220 €).
